“ Food was great! True, authentic San Juan experience! Don't returned off by the diner vibes, enjoy the local residents. ”
“ Food: Was GREAT! The cheese was melted perfectly, ham was not salty, bread was soft and sweet; couldn't ask for a better sandwich! Pina colada was good, not overly sweet and blended well. Now for the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Service: The lack of acknowledgment and his slow it took was unacceptable for just a sandwich. Customer service isn't a thing here. Waiter seemed irritated we asked the table to wiped down even though there were plates and powder sugar left from the previous guests. Having 2 servers for the whole restaurant was fine it was the fact it took over an hour to complete. ”
“ We had a wonderful experience in Old San Juan and visited Mallorca as it was recommended by the cruise. I don't normally go to touristy spots while on vacation but this restaurant really hit the spot! It's a bit on the pricey side but we felt it was well worth it. I'd recommend the mofongo with shrimp as it was fantastic! We also had the fried cheese with the guava sauce which was quite tasty. If I were to return again I'd get the whole snapper as I saw multiple people getting it and it looked perfectly crispy. ”

“ Ambience: down to earth, not fancy, clean Service: good service and we did not have to wait for food . No nonsense basic service in this neighborhood restaurant. It looked like there were a lot of locals there having lunch which is a good sign for me Food: excellent Puerto Rican food. We all liked our dishes. I recommend the Puerto Rican rice and beans. Also, the roasted pork was excellent with a very generous portion of pork. One of my teenaged sons had pork chop with rice and beans and enjoyed it. Pork chop is thin and well done but he really liked it. Other son ordered the skirt steak with french fries and liked that dish. Other adult had chicken with rice and beans which is all mixed together and he enjoyed that. You definitely would return at our next visit to San Juan ”
“ This is what eating at a Puerto Rican home feels like --it's authentic and local. They're even serving your food on a paper plate like you're at a family potluck! I knew that I wanted the mallorca since this spot is named after the popular dish. Since we came at 1pm, they gave us a lunch menu but I was still able to order the Ham and Cheese Mallorca. We also ordered the Pernil (pork shoulder roast with rice and plantains). Both dishes were super delicious. I loved the combination of the sweet mallorca sandwiching the savoriness of ham and cheese in the middle. This is an absolute must get here! I also really enjoyed the pernil, which is the perfect plate consisting of a bit everything. The pork was tender and the skin was crunchy. Everything is so delicious and affordable. It feels like eating at home here. Although service was a bit slow and the cashier was a bit rude, it's almost part of the charm here. ”
